Apart from ski jumper Kamil Stoch who took home two gold medals and cross country skier Justyna Kowalczyk who took one in the 10 km cross country classic, the undoubted stars of the event were Polish speed skaters. Poland won silver in the women's team pursuit on Saturday, hot on the heels of the men, who took bronze in the same discipline. The silver took Poland's tally to six medals, half of them coming in speed skating. "We proved that if you believe in us we can make miracles happen. These miracles are those medals we won there - bronze, silver and gold. There were absolutely no better results we could have dreamt of," Paweł Zygmunt, four-time member of Poland's speed skating Olympic team told Polish Radio.
