“I thought our performance today would be better, but we made too many mistakes," Stoch commented.
“It wasn't to be.”
Germany won the team event on Monday, followed by Austria and Japan.
Team-members jumped to the defence of Piotr Zyla, amid accusations that the contestant had cost Poland a medal through weak jumps.
There were suggestions that Dawid Kubacki should have been placed in the four-man team instead of Zyla.
However, coach Lukasz Kruczek told Polish Radio that Zyla had performed better in recent training, and that in the run up to the games, Zyla had jumped further than Stoch himself.
Kamil Stoch took gold in both the men's long hill and short hill events.
Currently, Poland is in ninth place in the overall ranking for the games, with four medals, all of then gold. Germany is leading with eight golds, three silvers and two bronzes. (nh)
