A generation of fast food addicts is in the making: one in five Polish kids are overweight or obese, statistics reveal.

The problem in Poland is comparable to that of “African and Asian countries, where if the income is increasing, people can afford more food and that’s why the prevalence of overweight and obesity is increasing,” Zbigniew Kułaga head of the Public Health department at the Children's Memorial Health Institute told Q&A host Alicja Baczyńska.

“We expect that after this increase we will also see the same pattern as in other European countries, where families with lower income will be more affected by the problem of overweight and obesity compared to those who are in a better financial situation,” he explains.
