Poland has recently marked ten years since it joined the European Union in 2004. On 1 May, Poles celebrated the anniversary at official ceremonies, cultural events and picnics. We look back at the benefits reaped during the past decade – is a sense of belonging to a common European community one of them?
„The problem is that we trust European institutions more than national ones, but we do not vote in European elections,” Anna Radwan, head of the Schuman Foundation in Warsaw, has told Q&A host Alicja Baczyńska.
The Schuman Foundation has been forging EU membership among Polish society since 1991.
