Police detained a group of Poles on 8 February in Nynashamn, about 60 km south of the Swedish capital, Stockholm. In their cars, officers found knives, crowbars and axes.
Some of the Poles live and work in Sweden but others had travelled there from Poland ahead of the alleged planned attack, according to IAR. None of the men have admitted guilt.
Swedish and Polish media have reported that the planned attack was to be an act of revenge after an immigrant from a refugee center molested a young Polish woman on a local train. (pk)
