According to the new regulations, the president – on application from the government – may introduce three varying states of emergency in Poland if it is deemed that the country is attacked by electronic means.
The bill changes regulations on martial law, states of emergency, and states of natural disaster relief.
The signing of the bill comes after it was submitted by the presidential National Security Bureau in June to parliament, after being first considered by the National Security Council.
President Komorowski also referred to the heads of the parliamentary commissions on national defence, internal affairs, as well as special services before completing the draft bill in May. (jb)
