Ferocious winds hit Poland

Over 10,000 firefighters were called out to deal with damage wrought by ferocious winds, storms and heavy rainfall in Poland over the weekend.

Paweł Frątczak, a spokesman for the fire brigade, said on Monday morning that most call-outs were to areas of western Poland.
He added that high winds damaged 112 buildings across the country, including 89 residential buildings.
Two people were injured, including one firefighter.
Fire crews also pumped out water from flooded basements and roads.
