Poland detains man suspected of preparing terror attack

Polish authorities have detained a man suspected of preparing a terrorist attack in the country, an official said on Friday.

The suspect, identified only as Mikołaj B., was detained on May 9 by Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW), according to Stanisław Żaryn, spokesman for the country’s security services chief.
The detained man is a member of Warsaw’s Muslim community, Żaryn said, as quoted by public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency.
The suspect’s motives were religious and he had a history of psychiatric treatment, the IAR news agency reported, citing Żaryn.
