The tragedy in the Polish capital’s outlying Żerań neighbourhood took place late on Christmas Day, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
It quoted Marcin Saduś, a spokesman for prosecutors, as saying that "all those who were inside were killed."
Preliminary findings by investigators have turned up no evidence of foul play, the news agency reported on Wednesday.
While the identities of the dead remained unknown, officials believed all the victims were homeless people who were spending the night in the vacant building.
