Poland would be the latest in a string of European Union countries to reject the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.
Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak told public broadcaster Polish Radio: "We believe that this is not a good solution. This is not a method that would make it possible to reduce the migration crisis. On the contrary, it would only intensify the crisis.”
The Compact was given preliminary approval in July by all 193 UN member countries except the United States.
It followed a crisis that saw the biggest influx of migrants into Europe since World War II, many of them fleeing conflicts and poverty-stricken regions in the Middle East and Africa.
