Szynkowski vel Sęk is a parliamentarian with Poland’s ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party, the PAP news agency reported.

The foreign ministry in Warsaw noted on its website that Szynkowski vel Sęk is a member of the Polish lower house’s Committee on the European Union and of its Foreign Affairs Committee. In addition, he chairs a Polish-German bilateral group in the lower chamber of Poland’s legislature, the foreign ministry said.

New Polish ambassador to Israel soon?

Meanwhile, Marek Magierowski on Friday left his post as a deputy foreign minister with the rank of undersecretary of state, the foreign ministry in Warsaw said.

It added that Magierowski’s departure stemmed from his planned posting as a diplomat abroad.

The parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee in May greenlighted Magierowski’s candidacy to take over as Poland’s ambassador to Israel, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency noted in a report on Friday.

Jacek Czaputowicz has been Poland’s foreign minister since early January.
