More babies born in Poland: stats office

More babies were born in Poland last year than in 2016, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) has said.

At around 402,000, the number of births in 2017 was roughly 20,000 more than in the previous year, the office reported on Wednesday.
In 2016, the number of births in Poland was also higher than a year earlier, according to the Central Statistical Office.
About 382,000 babies were born in Poland in 2016, up by 13,000 from 2015, according to the statistics office.
