Jaki is a deputy justice minister who heads a state commission investigating a scandal over the restitution of prime real estate in the Polish capital.
The scandal has seen the dismissal of several officials at Warsaw City Hall as well as calls for incumbent mayor Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz to resign.
Gronkiewicz-Waltz, from the opposition Civic Platform (PO) party, has been Warsaw mayor since 2006. Media reports have said she will not stand for reelection.
Kaczyński also said Małgorzata Wassermann, who heads a commission investigating the Amber Gold pyramid scheme, would run for mayor in Kraków while Kacper Płażyński was named as the coalition's candidate for Gdańsk mayor.
The United Right is a coalition of Poland's ruling conservative PiS party, Poland Together (Polska Razem) and Solidarna Polska. (vb/pk)
