Morawiecki, who heads a conservative government which champions traditional Roman Catholic values, took to Twitter to wish his countrymen “peace, love and rest in the company of [your] loved ones."
He also wished Poles "a joyful celebration of the Sunday of the Lord's resurrection!”
In a video posted on Saturday on YouTube, Morawiecki said the resurrection of Christ celebrated by Christians at this time of year carried “a universal message: we must unite, not divide”.
Easter is a period when Poles traditionally spend time with their families, go to church and relax, with many enjoying a lull in the country’s usually bitter political debate.
