According to roughly one in four Poles, Mateusz Morawiecki’s new government will be more effective than the previous one, a survey by pollster SW Research has shown.

Meanwhile, almost 40 percent of respondents said the new Cabinet would not be more effective, while 38 percent had no opinion on the matter.

On Tuesday, Polish President Andrzej Duda swore in new defence, foreign, finance, environment, health and interior ministers, replacing politicians such as Antoni Macierewicz, Witold Waszczykowski, Jan Szyszko and Konstanty Radziwiłł.

"Men were more inclined to expect that the new Cabinet would not be more effective than the previous one, at 40 percent, compared to 37 percent for women," Piotr Zimolzak, from SW Research, said.

"Forty-two percent of those who do not believe that the reshuffle would boost the government’s efficiency are aged above 50, 33 percent have a vocational education, 47 percent have a monthly income higher than PLN 5,000 [EUR 1,196], and 54 percent live in cities with a population between 200,000 and 499,000," Zimolzak added.
