Nearly 600 advisors will support Poland’s public Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) ahead of a lower statutory retirement age being implemented in October.

As of 1 October, women will be eligible for retirement at 60, men at 65. Currently, the legal age is 67 but, introduced just four years ago, it was not fully enforced.
Elżbieta Rafalska, family, labour and social policy minister, said she hopes that the new advisors will be inundated with people looking for ways to defer their retirement.
She said the retirement age was a right and not an obligation.
The advisors are equipped with special calculators to compute how working longer will change monthly pension payouts.
Some 331,000 people will be entitled to retire when the retirement age changes in October. (vb)
