One of the longest total eclipses of the Moon – and one of two this year - will be visible in the evening sky tonight.
In Poland, the eclipse will start 7.30 pm, with the Moon fully covered by shadow at 9.22 pm.
The phenomenon will last for one and a half hours and is one of the rarer types of eclipse, when the centre of the Earth’s shadow falls on the lunar disc.
Although, weather allowing, the observation conditions in Poland will be good, the best places to watch the eclipse tonight are Africa and Asia.
The next such astronomical occurrence is to take place on 10 December. (ek)
