A shop and bar, one of which was opened by former imam Hani Hraish just last week, had their windows shattered and a surveillance camera stolen by vandals most likely armed with a crowbar, stones and an air gun, Radio Gdańsk reports.

The assault is not the first such incident targeting the longtime resident of the city, as he had in the past experienced acts of vandalism and arson threats against his business.

The owner and his son suspect the latest outburst of violence was linked to the terrorist attacks in Paris, which killed over 120 people in November.

Damages incurred have been estimated at PLN 12,000 (nearly EUR 3,000).

A police investigation is now underway. (aba/rk)
