As studies show, over 80 percent of Poles do not think pollution is a problem that concerns them, meanwhile, experts point to household heating installations and cars, as some of the key culprits behind Poland's emission rates hovering above daily air pollution limits, writes Gazeta Wyborcza.
The ministry thus seeks to show links between individual choices of residents and their impact on air quality.
The campaign is geared towards encouraging citizens to purchase quality coal for heating or switching from cars to public transport - decisions which in longer term may have a positive influence on household budgets, the ministry assures.
High pollution in Poland claims the lives of some 40,000 people per year. According to the European Environment Agency, Poland is the most polluted country in Europe, alongside Bulgaria. (aba/rg/rk)
