The number is comparable to the number of people registered in the Polish capital Warsaw.
The number is growing because of the increasing pace of life and the stress associated with it, said Dr. Piotr Wierzbiński from the Medsolver Psychological Association.
On 23 February, Poland commemorated the National Depression Awareness Day.
“The first manifestation of depression is usually preceded by a significant stressful life event, which usually takes quite a significant toll on the patient and his financial and family situation,” Dr. Wierzbiński said. (rg)
