The MEP, whose outspoken remarks have sparked controversy both in Brussels and at home, was ejected from his previous leadership position after it emerged that the 72-year-old has recently fathered children out of wedlock.
Korwin-Mikke's new party is called the Coalition for the Restoration of Freedom and Hope to the Republic (Koalicja Odnowy Rzeczypospolitej Wolność i Nadzieja).
''The abbreviation is very nice: KORWiN,'' he quipped during a press conference in parliament.
The MEP said the party would have a similar programme to the Congress of the New Right, only that it would be ''more extensive.''
His previous party was socially conservative, pro the restoration of the monarchy, radically libertarian towards the economy and eurosceptic.
Korwin-Mikke's right-hand man in the party is MP Przemyslaw Wipler, formerly of Law and Justice, the largest opposition party in parliament at present. (nh)
