In 2012, the Roman Catholic Church-backed charity assisted 7,000 Poles currently without a home, providing 3,000 beds and over a million hot meals throughout Poland’s long winter months.
Polish scouts will be on the streets over All Souls weekend, selling candles – which Poles take to the graves of deceased loved ones - to raise money for the action campaign.
In August this year, Caritas Polska launched a scheme aimed at those in the early stages of homelessness and associated addictions, targeted at the 25 to 35 year-old age group. (pg)
