Apert syndrome auction at Poland versus England match

During the match played at the National Stadium, a Honda sports car plus autographed jerseys of both national squads will be auctioned to raise money for sufferers of Apert syndrome, in a charity action organized by Caritas and Polish football association (PZPN).

Apert syndrome is a congenital disorder characterized by malformations of the skull, face, hands and feet.

Statistics show incidence of the syndrome is estimated at 1 birth per 200,000.

The complicated therapy is a long and costly process, Grzegorz Faberski, father of Antos, a three year old child suffering from the syndrome, told the PR24 station.

“The cost of the medical tests alone is around $20,000. This is because many of the diagnostics cannot be made in Poland due to technical reasons,” he said.

The tests will provide additional information for the surgery scheduled for next June.
Hopefully, the evening auction at the National Stadium will contribute significantly to covering the expenses of therapy for three year old Antos. (pg/ss)
