In today’s programme, we take a look at the cooperation between the European Union and two emerging powers India and China, following the EU-India summit in New Delhi and the visit of the EU leaders to Beijing.

It is important both for the EU and India to develop economic relations. India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world with a huge consumption market of over one billion people and the EU is India's largest trading partner, accounting for eighty-six billion euro in total trade in 2010. Although bilateral trade in goods and services is increasing, there is more than one bone of contention between the EU and India, which hinders the free trade agreement.
