Polish scientist protests Google patent

Jarosław Duda of the Jagiellonian University, one of Poland’s top academic centers, is demanding the withdrawal of a patent application filed by the IT giant in the USA on a solution he claims to have developed a few years ago. As Michał Owczarek reports, an official protest to the United States Patent and Trademark Office was filed last week.

“The application has been filed without any prior agreement of dr Duda who is the originator of most part of the solution… this is actually an attempt to block access to his property…” said Jagiellonian University prorector Stanisław Kistryn.
