News from Poland :: 3.03.2016

In the magazine: The economic strategy introduced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Development, Mateusz Morawiecki, mainly concentrates on building local capital and fueling more development. At a meeting organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland, he assured American investors that the new plan will not deter foreign investment in Poland. We look closer at the minister’s words. Also: Before the World Humanitarian Summit in May 2016, the Network on Humanitarian Action (NOHA) and the European Commission are organising a series of roundtable debates. The third one of these was held inWarsaw on Wednesday. And we look ahead to Saturday's concert at London’s Royal Festival Hall featuring, among other works, the Stabat Mater by the Polish composer Karol Szymanowski, one of the masterpieces of twentieth-century sacred music. The concert is supported by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute as part of the Polska Music programme, celebrating the 1050th anniversary of the Baptism of Poland.
