Bieszczady, a mountain range in the extreme south-eastern part of Poland is generally considered to be the country's "wildest corner".
The region is scarcely inhabited and most of the tourists are only interested in the most popular northern area of Bieszczady, around Lake Solina. Yet for those who admire nature in its truest form, untouched by civilisation, Bieszczady National Park, further down south, is a paradise.
It is one of the rare places in Europe where you can actually see wild bears, wolves a nd European bison roaming wild in the forest. Although an encounter might be scary, it is certainly an experience you will never forget and it's quite a common one during hikes in the Bieszczady.
However, the region is also very musical. Radio Poland’s Tomek Ferens took a ride to listen on the spot.
