Opposition MP Witold Waszczykowski says his party Law and Justice's showing at the European parliament elections could act as a launch pad for further success at next year's general election.

“This should help us mobilise people around Law and Justice and win the next elections [to the Polish Parliament],” Witold Waszczykowski tells our reporter Michal Kubicki.
Civic Platform and Law and Justice were almost neck-and-neck in the European election, each with 19 seats in the assembly.
Civic Platform can also point to a better than average showing of incumbent governing parties in many member states.
In comparison with the 2009 elections Law and Justice won four more seats in the European Parliament, whereas Civic Platform - six seats less.
