Azerbaijan and the EU have maintained a positive relationship over the years with the post-Soviet state being part of the European Neighbourhood Policy and the Council of Europe as well as a large recipient of both aid and infrastructure investment from the bloc.
Attendants of Euronest, or the Energy Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly, have met in Baku this week to discuss energy security in the region, as well as the developments of the Eastern Partnership Project. The Euronest PA includes 110 MPs: 60 come from the European Parliament and 10 each from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus.
Danuta Isler spoke to foreign policy analyst, Heydar Mirza, and energy expert Gulmira Rzayeva, a leading research fellows at Center for Strategic Studies of Azerbaijan, here in Warsaw.
