Polish league runners up last season Legia Warszawa beat the Romanian team FC Botosani 1:0 in the first leg of their second qualifying round to the Champions League.

Legia will make it into the third round of the competition if they can come through a tricky second leg next Thursday (23 July) in Romania.

Ondrej Duda scored the only goal of the game in the 78th minute.

The match, which took place in Warsaw on Wednesday evening, was watched by 10,000 spectators. (jh)
