Wrestling: Poles with silver, bronze in Bucharest

Poles claimed two medals, a bronze and a silver, in the men’s freestyle wrestling events at the European championships being held in Bucharest, Romania.

Poland’s Zbigniew Baranowski took the silver in the men’s 92 kg freestyle, losing to Azerbaijan’s Sharif Sharifov in the final bout on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Poland’s Magomedmurad Gadzhiev won bronze in the men’s 70 kg freestyle on Tuesday.
The championships in the Romanian capital, which also include Greco-Roman and women's wrestling events, run until Sunday.
Women wrestlers were set to begin competing for medals in Bucharest on Thursday.
Poland scooped a total of four medals, two silver and two bronze, at last year’s European wrestling championships in Kaspiysk, Russia.
