The 27-year-old Pole finished 5.9 seconds behind the winner, Yuliia Dzhima of Ukraine, in the first individual women's competition of the new Biathlon World Cup season.
The Czech Republic’s Marketa Davidova took third place, 16.5 seconds behind Hojnisz.
Hojnisz in February finished sixth in the women’s 15 km individual biathlon competition at the winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
Ukrainian Nadiya Bilova was in April named the new head coach for Poland’s women’s biathlon team to replace Norwegian Tobias Torgersen after an uninspiring season for Polish biathletes, both women and men.
