Five medals, one gold, for Poland at European canoeing championships

Poland's Marta Walczykiewicz won gold in the women's K1 200-metre event at the Canoe Sprint European Championships in Belgrade on Sunday.

With a time of 39.697 seconds, Walczykiewicz beat Hungary's Danuta Kozak by less than half a second.
Hers was one of five Polish medal-winning performances on Sunday.
Dorota Borowska came second in the women's C1 200-metre, 0.496 seconds behind Russia's Olesia Romasenko, who won with a time of 45.276 seconds.
Dominika Włodarczyk and Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk won bronze in the K2 women's 200-metre, while Arsen Śliwiński and Michał Łubniewski won bronze in the men's C2 200-metre race.
Also with a bronze medal, for her performance in the K1 500-metre race, was Anna Puławska. (vb)
