The “No Limits Yukon 2018” project comprises two events in Canada, the Yukon River Quest and Yukon 1000.
During the Yukon River Quest, which starts on June 9, participants are expected to paddle 715 kilometres in 60 hours.
In the Yukon 1000 event, which is known as the world’s longest wilderness canoe race, from Canada into the Alaskan backcountry, Gienieczko plans to cover 1,600 kilometres in seven days.
He has dedicated his participation in the challenge to this year’s centenary of Polish independence and has named his canoe “Independent Poland.”
Gienieczko is the only European expected to take part in the race, which starts three weeks after the Yukon River Quest.
Gienieczko’s achievements include a solo canoe trip down the Amazon River, a feat which earned him a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
