Cycling: Poland's Maciej Bodnar second in time trial

Poland's Maciej Bodnar has come second in a time trial at the European cycling championships in Herning, Denmark, losing to Belgium's Victor Campenaerts.

Bodnar, who was recently the fastest cyclist in stage 20 of the Tour de France, was two seconds behind Campenaerts' winning time of 53:12.
Ireland's Ryan Mullen closed the top three.
Marcin Białobłocki, another Polish cyclist, came 12th in the time trial.
In the women's event, Ellen van Dijk of the Netherlands came first with a time of 40:33, and about a minute behind were Ann-Sophie Duyck of Belgium and Anna van der Breggen of the Netherlands.
Poland's Eugenia Bujak and Katarzyna Pawłowska came sixth and seventh. (vb)
