Radwańska won 7:6 (7-3), 6:0 in under 90 minutes.
She decided to play at Wimbledon despite concerns about her health because she performs best on grass courts.
In round two of the competition, Radwańska will face off against America's Christina McHale, who beat Britain's Katie Boulter 3:6, 7:5, 6:3 in her first-round match. (vb/pk)
