Kowalczyk wins Swedish marathon

Polish cross-country skiing star Justyna Kowalczyk won the Aarefjällsloppet marathon on Saturday in Are, Sweden.

The 63 km marathon marked the last long-distance race of the season in the Visma Ski Classics.

The Polish victor managed to wrap up the marathon in 3:02:01.49, ahead of Swiss Seraina Boner (3:02:17.38), and Japanese Masako Ishida (3:03:18.77). (nh/pk)
