Cypriots sign third Polish league player

Mateusz Piątkowski has signed a two-year contract with Cypriot champions Apoel.

The 30-year old Polish striker, who played last season for Jagiellonia Białystok, is the third player from the Polish league to join Apoel. The others were Inaki Astiz (from Legia Warszawa) and Semir Stilić (from Wisła Kraków).
Piątkowski played 54 games for Jagiellonia Białystok between 2013 to 2015, although partly in the reserves in his final seaon with the club.
Apoel is in the qualifiers to play in the lucrative Champions League in the coming season. (jh)
