Poland won six gold, two silver and two bronze medals, securing a medal in all of the ten events, which included fights with sword and shield, longsword and halberd (a two-handed pole weapon complete with axe-blade and spike), taking in one-on-one combat and group clashes.

Britain came second in the overall classification – with five medals, followed by Spain, Canada’s Quebec, the United States and Denmark – with two medals each.
