Poland awards Paralympics 2012 medalists

Poland’s top disabled athletes received medals of honour from President Komorowski, Thursday, after a successful London Paralympics 2012.

101 disabled athletes represented Poland at the Paralympics last summer, bringing home 36 medals, including 14 gold, 13 silver and 9 bronze.
“Thank you for the great lesson you gave us in humanity and civic pride,” Bronislaw Komorowski told the athletes at the Presidential Palace.
The medal haul put Poland in ninth place in the medal table among 75 countries who won places on podiums throughout the games. (pg)
