Natalia Partyka takes gold at Paralympics

Natalia Partyka has beaten China's Qian Yang three sets to two (11:5, 11:13, 11:9, 7:11, 11:4) in the final of the women's table tennis at the London Paralympics.

This is the third gold medal for the 23-year-old, who was born without a right arm, at successive Paralympic Games.
Partyka, like South African sprinter Oscar Pistorius, competed in both the able-bodied and disabled Olympics this summer.
In 2008, Partyka was awarded one of Poland's highest honours, the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (5th class) for sporting achievement.
The gold for the Gdansk-based athlete comes after another Polish victory over a Chinese table tennis player – a sport China dominates – when 22-year-old Patryk Chojnowski won gold in one of the men's competitions on Sunday.
Poland have now climbed to tenth in the medal table at the Paralympcs 2012, with five gold, four silver and two bronze. (pg)
