They also attended the opening of an exhibition dedicated to Polish-Estonian inter-war ties.
According to Polish presidential aide Krzysztof Szczerski, the trip to Tartu is one of Duda's many visits “connected with what can be called the rebirth of statehoods in Central Europe 100 years ago”.
Estonia's celebrations will continue until February 2, 2020, the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Tartu peace treaty which forced Soviet Russia to recognise the country's independence.
Poland celebrates its centenary on November 11.
On November 11, 1918, when an armistice ending World War I was signed, Polish statesman Józef Piłsudski arrived in Warsaw, announcing the country's independence after more than a century of partitions and foreign rule.
While in Tartu, Duda and his wife were set to visit the award-winning Estonian National Museum.
They were also to take part in the opening of a three-day song and dance festival for students in the Baltic States. (vb/pk)
