"For now they are about 200 people [in the data base] but more will be added,” spokesman Mariusz Sokolowski told journalists, Wednesday, a press conference in Warsaw.
The names of the potential hooligans have been added to the National Police Information System and will remain there until 30 days after the tournament ends.
Fans from Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Russia, and Spain will be playing matches in Poland in the group stages which begin on 8 June.
In April, Poland’s National Audit Chamber (NIK) noted that Polish police had yet to create a data base with the names of foreigners banned from attending matches in their homelands.
149 police officers from forces outside Poland will also be assisting crowd control at matches and will be identifiable by wearing blue vests with the flags of their nations on them. (pg)
