No-deal Brexit bad for both Britain and EU: Polish PM

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said late on Tuesday that a no-deal Brexit would be “a bad solution” for both Britain and the European Union.

Morawiecki was speaking shortly after British deputies overwhelmingly voted to reject Prime Minister Theresa May’s Brexit divorce deal, triggering political turmoil.
Morawiecki wrote on Twitter: "Together with our partners in the EU, we will address new British proposals on this matter.”
He added: “We will do everything to ensure maximum predictability and security for our citizens and companies.”
British lawmakers on Tuesday evening voted against May’s Brexit deal by 432 to 202.
Jeremy Corbyn, leader of the opposition Labour party, motioned for a vote of no confidence in May’s conservative government, which could trigger a parliamentary election.
Some 985,000 Poles lived in Britain in June last year, down from 1.02 million in December 2017, according to Britain’s Office for National Statistics.
Britain’s final divorce date is set for March 29.
May last month told Poles living in her country that they were welcome and would be able to stay in the UK after Brexit.
Morawiecki at the time spoke in favour of continued close ties with London post-Brexit, saying that Britain is "leaving the European Union, not Europe."
