The ranking, which evaluated 19 finance ministers from the EU’s largest economies, is based on political competence, economic performance and credibility.
The Financial Times writes that Poland “was the only European Union country to avoid recession in 2009 and is forecast to be one of the bloc’s fastest growing economies next year.”
UK-born Jacek Rostowski came second in last year’s FT ranking, which has now been running for six years. (nt/jb)
