The G20, which comprises of finance ministers and central bank governors from 19 countries, plus an additional representative from the European Union, will be discussing in part the current economic crisis in Europe, and beyond.

Rostowski is set to tell the 19 other finance ministers assembled that greater economic integration will be the response of the EU to the current crisis.

The Polish minister will also stress to his counterparts, who include representatives from China, India, Brazil and Mexico, that several countries, Poland among them, are proving comparatively resilient to the crisis.

Besides the EU’s delegate, four individual European states are represented in G20 at present: France, Germany, the United Kingdom and Italy, the latter facing significant economic difficulties.

Rostowski is also expected to underline that Poland, currently holding the presidency of the EU Council, and one of the largest member states, feels jointly responsible for the task of finding a solution to the global financial crisis. (nh/jb)
