The operation near the town of Piaseczno saw investigators confiscate 70 tonnes of illegal tobacco with an estimated street value of PLN 31 million (EUR 7.2 million, USD 8.2 million), Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported on Friday.
Officers from Poland's Central Bureau of Police Investigation (CBŚP), working together with inspectors from the National Tax Administration (KAS), have busted a warehouse full of illicit goods and detained a 34-year-old suspect.
Prosecutors have charged the man with tax offences.
He faces up to six years in prison if found guilty of the charges.
