Fitch ups Polish GDP growth forecasts

International rating agency Fitch has upgraded its forecast for Poland's 2019 GDP growth to 4 percent from a previous projection of 3.8 percent.

The agency also revised upward its GDP growth forecast for Poland in 2020 to 3.5 percent from the 3 percent it forecast earlier, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported on Wednesday.
Poland’s Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki tweeted that the upgrades showed that his government's policies were effective and that experts saw Poland as "a leader of economic growth in Europe."
Fitch in January revised downward its estimate of Poland’s general government deficit this year from 2.2 percent to 1.7 percent of GDP.
