China has refused to allow the resumption of pork imports from Poland, which has been hit by outbreaks of African swine fever.
While in Beijing, Bogucki is to meet government officials including his Chinese counterpart.
He is also to travel to Shanghai to visit the SIAL fair, billed by its organisers as Asia’s largest food and beverage exhibition.
The show runs from Wednesday to Friday. The European Union’s Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Phil Hogan, is also expected to attend the event.
Organisers say they expect 3,400 exhibitors from 67 countries at the fair.
