Polish president Andrzej Duda has launched the “Future Technologies. Electromobility” conference at Warsaw’s Presidential Palace.

Duda said that e-mobility was important because replacing combustion-engine cars with electric vehicles in the future would increase Poland’s energy independence and reduce pollution.
He added that a Polish economy focused on innovative technologies, would be able to compete with Western economies.
The conference in Warsaw was attended by Deputy Energy Minister Michał Kurtyka, Director of the National Centre for Research and Development Maciej Chorowski and manufacturers and exporters from Poland’s e-mobility sector.
It is the second in a series of “Future Technologies” conferences organized by the president’s office aimed at starting a conversation about challenges faced by innovating Polish businesses.
Meanwhile, a proposed new law on e-mobility which aims to streamline Polish legislature with European Union rules is to be discussed in Poland’s upper house. It includes waiving excise on electric vehicles, free parking in cities, and construction of some 6,000 charging stations around the country. (vb)
